Reviving the Islamic sciences

Nūr Sa’aadah is honoured to present its first Umrah trip in collaboration with Al-Maqasid. A 10-night experience of devotion, learning, and spiritual companionship.

Guided by esteemed teachers including Shaykh Yahya Rhodus, Shaykh Hasan Shire, Shaykh Amjad Tarsin, and Sayyid Tarif Arabi, our days will be filled with remembrance, sacred knowledge, and the visitation of prophetic places. Together, we will walk in the footsteps of the Beloved ﷺ, visiting the illuminated cities of Makkah and Madinah.

Spiritual Companionship

This Umrah is designed to nurture both heart and soul, with guided teachings, group reflections, and time for personal ibadah. Daily schedules will include short lessons from our teachers and visits to sites of immense spiritual and historical significance. Whether this is your first time or a return to the Haramain, you’ll be supported by a warm, knowledgeable group every step of the way.

This Ziyara is aimed at adults over the age of 18, however, if you are a family or have children and you would like to attend, please register below and we will do our utmost to accommodate you.

Teachers

Shaykh Yahya Rhodus

Shaykh Yahya Rhodus is the Founding Director of Al-Maqasid, an Islamic seminary whose vision is to facilitate the realisation of Islam, Iman and Ihsan through immersion in the Prophetic Inheritance. His journey began at the traditional school of Murabit al-Hajj in the desert of Mauritania shortly after his conversion. His path of learning then led him to the acclaimed school Dar al-Mustafa in Tarim, where he received instruction from the renowned scholar and spiritual guide Habib Umar Bin Hafiz.

Shaykh Hasan Shire

Shaykh Hasan Shire is a London-based chaplain, educator, and community organiser who spent over a decade studying Islamic sciences in Hadramout, Yemen, under the guidance of renowned scholars including Habib ʿUmar bin Hafiẓ. He currently serves as a mental health and hospital chaplain in Essex and at UCLH, and is also a khatib at Al Madina Mosque in Barking. Shaykh Hasan is the founder of Nur Sa’aadah, an East London-based initiative nurturing spiritual growth and community engagement. He supports converts through New Beginnings UK, coordinates translations for Muwasala, and leads humanitarian work with Rafah International.

Shaykh Amjad Tarsin

Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Ustadh Amjad obtained his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Michigan in English Literature and Islamic Studies. He then spent an intensive year studying at Dar al-Mustafa for Islamic Sciences in Tarim, Yemen. There he studied under such luminaries as Habib Umar bin Hafiz, and other. He then served as Muslim Chaplain at the University of Toronto for seven years before joining the faculty at Al-Maqasid in June 2019.

Sayyid Tarif Arabi

Born and raised in Damascus, Syria. He studied traditional Islamic Sciences at Al-Fath Institute, al-Azhar branch in Syria. His teachers include Shaykh Abdul Rahman al-Shaghuri, Shaykh Hamza Yusuf, Shaykh Dr. Mustafa al-Khin and Shaykh Dr. Samer al-Nass.
